The
Dallas-based Greyhound Lines, Inc. announced it is returning to the Las Vegas
market starting this week its express bus service to and from Los Angeles. On
Wednesday, it launched the new Greyhound Express route between the two cities.
Greyhound
Lines, the largest intercity bus service in North America with 3,800
destinations, announced that its Greyhound Express subsidiary will offer five
daily express buses to Los Angeles with departures at 5 a.m., 8:40 a.m., 1:30
p.m., 5:10 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. with the return trips leaveing Los Angeles at
12:30 a.m., 8:30 a.m., 12:15 p.m., 3 p.m. and 10:45 p.m.
A typical
trip from Las Vegas to Los Angeles usually takes about five hours.
Each bus
will have free WiFi and reserved seating. Ticket prices range from $25 to
$67.50 one way, with a limited number of discounted tickets offered for $1.
This will be
the first scheduled express bus service between Las Vegas and Los Angeles since
2007 when the United Kingdom-based Stagecoach Group offered Megabus service on
buses leased from Coach USA. Due to of lack of ridership, that route lasted
only 10 months. It ended in June 2008.
